Please contact Matthew if you are interested in pursuing private organ study. He also frequently presents masterclasses and workshops on numerous topics, including organ registration, voluntary playing, hymn playing, organ technique, and more.

MATTHEW'S PEDAGOGICAL PHILOSOPHY

I strive to help students deeply engage in the music-making process while working to build a technique that supports it. In addition, I help students engage with the historical and mechanical aspects of the instrument, the composer, and the repertoire, which helps inform our musical choices. Through this guidance, we work to make meaningful musical decisions, respect the composer's own intentions and ideas, connect with the wider community, and develop our own personality.
